Quantitative EEG (qEEG)

The use of Quantitative EEG (qEEG) is a cutting edge area of the neurofeedback field. qEEGs help clinicians more strategically locate areas of the brain that are operating at less than optimal levels. At the Neurotherapy Center of Houston we collect and analyze qEEG data.

Here’s how it works:

We place a cap (like a swim cap) with multiple sensors on your head to record activity all over the brain. After recording (which involves sitting still and quiet for several minutes), we will edit and process your recorded EEG information. Then your data is compared to a qEEG database to determine where there is more or less of certain brain wave activity compared to the “norm.” Based on these findings we can develop a more targeted training plan.
